Dates: Saturday & Sunday: June 13th, June 14th, June 20th, and June 21st, 2026. All course dates must be attended in full.
Time: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM each day
Location: Rock Sports Club, 3092 Shafto Rd Building 3, Tinton Falls, NJ 07753
Tuition: $375 (Includes Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, 1-Year Bloodborne Pathogens certification, and all ARC processing fees).
Format: Blended Learning (Online Adaptive Learning + In-Person Skills Testing).
Course Prerequisites
To successfully participate in and pass this course, candidates must meet strict American Red Cross standards on Day 1.
Age Requirement: You must be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
Deep Water Swim-Tread-Swim: Jump in, totally submerge, and execute a 150-yard continuous swim (front crawl or breaststroke). Immediately transition to 2 minutes of treading water using only your legs (hands must remain tucked under armpits). Followed immediately by a final 50-yard continuous swim.
Timed Object Retrieval (1 Minute, 40 Seconds): Swim 20 yards (no goggles), execute a deep-water surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10lb object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on your back to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands. Exit the water without utilizing a ladder or steps.
Note: If a candidate cannot pass the physical prerequisite evaluation on the first day, they cannot continue in the course.
What to Expect & What to Bring
This is a Blended Learning course. The online modules must be completed prior to your first in-person session. Please arrive 15 minutes early and ready to get in the water.
Proof of Online Completion: Printed or digital proof that you completed the ARC online modules.
Proof of Age: A driver's license, passport, birth certificate, or valid photo ID to verify you meet the 15-year-old age requirement.
Swimwear: An athletic bathing suit.
Goggles: Permitted only for the distance swim prerequisite. They are strictly prohibited during the timed 10lb object retrieval and all rescue scenarios.
Essentials: Multiple towels, dry clothes, a packed lunch, a water bottle, and snacks. (These are full 7-hour days and the in-water drills are physically demanding!).
