Course Overview
This Advanced First Aid course (17–21 hours) builds on standard first-aid training by focusing on the most common, and severe, illnesses and injuries lifeguards may face on duty. From environmental emergencies to trauma and advanced rescue scenarios, you'll gain hands-on experience in life-saving interventions proven in real emergencies.

What You’ll Learn
1. Medical Emergencies
Assess and manage illnesses such as cardiac events, strokes, seizures, diabetic crises, and respiratory distress.
Early recognition and response strategies crucial for waterside incidents.
2. Trauma Management
Treatment for soft-tissue injuries, wounds, fractures, dislocations, and spinal trauma, all common scenarios in rescue situations.
Mastering bandaging, splinting, and injury stabilization when emergency services are en route.
3. Environmental Injuries
Managing hypothermia, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and near-drowning cases vital skills for varying aquatic settings.
4. Emergency Response and Equipment Use
CPR & AED use, plus oxygen delivery, lifesaving abilities when every second counts.
Hands-on training with BVMs, backboards, and cervical collars to elevate your care from basic to advanced.
5. Incident Assessment & Decision-Making
Approach incidents with a structured method, prioritize airway, breathing, circulation (ABCs).
Make critical triage and scene-management decisions confidently under pressure.
Certification & Course Structure
Certified for 2 years: Upon passing a written exam and demonstrating key skills competency .
Small Class Setting: Max 1 instructor per 10 students, with hands-on partner work for realistic practice scenarios .
Flexible Format: Delivered in blended sessions, designed to accommodate various training styles and schedules .
