Exclusive Joint Training: A.L.A. & U.S. Coast Guard
OCEAN RESCUE LIFEGUARDS ONLY
Date: Monday, July 15th, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Location: Surf Cottages Beach
The Atlantic Lifeguard Alliance (A.L.A.) is thrilled to announce a joint training exercise with the United States Coast Guard (USCG). While this event is optional, it is highly encouraged. This is a rare and invaluable opportunity not granted to many beach patrols, designed to elevate your ocean rescue skills and familiarize you with professional USCG search and rescue protocols.
What to Expect
The Swim: The training kicks off with a 300–500 meter offshore swim to rendezvous with an anchored Coast Guard cutter vessel.
The Drills: Once you board the vessel, you will engage in comprehensive emergency response drills under the expert guidance of USCG personnel. You'll tackle advanced rescue scenarios, get hands-on experience with specialized equipment, and learn the techniques routinely employed during critical maritime emergencies.
The Return: The crew will conclude the session by swimming back to shore, reinforcing the practical skills and stamina essential for real-world ocean rescue.
